Refunds

This page covers money paid to Service Wirecore for collector commissions: sourcing retainers, session fees, condition notes, folio deposits, and NFT comic edition briefs. It does not cover publisher refunds, auction houses, or grading companies.

Eligibility

You may request a refund by emailing hello@service-wirecore.world with the commission date and what you paid. We reply within two working days. Eligibility depends on how far the work has travelled, not on whether a Scarlet Witch issue later appears cheaper on another list.

Timeframe

Ask within 14 days of the charge if you want us to consider a full refund of unused work. After a copy has been purchased on your written approval, that purchase is between you and the dealer or auction; we refund only our unused success fee if we have not yet invoiced it.

Full or partial refunds

Consultations cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice are refunded in full. Inside 48 hours we keep 50% unless we can fill the hour. Condition notes are refunded in full if we have not yet opened the package. Once examination has started, the fee is earned; you still receive the note.

The £85 sourcing retainer is not refundable after the want-list workshop has been delivered. If we have not yet sent the brief, we refund it minus any bank fee we cannot recover. Success fees are charged only on copies you approved; unused search time is not billed as a success fee.

Non-refundable items

Cloth already cut for a named folio, lettered spine pieces, and courier charges already paid to move your pamphlets. NFT comic edition brief fees after the written brief has been sent. Copies bought for you with your approval — those belong to you; returning them to a dealer is their policy, not ours.

Process and timing

Approved refunds go back by the same method you paid, within 10 working days of our email confirming the amount. We do not refund in store credit or in extra comics.

Cancellation, rescheduling, deposits, no-shows

Studio viewings can be rescheduled once at no charge if you give 24 hours’ notice. A no-show without notice forfeits a £25 diary fee, deducted from any later refund. Folio deposits (40%) are applied to the finished spine; if you cancel after cloth is ordered, we refund the unused remainder after materials.

Work already started and materials

A folio that is already sewn cannot be unwound into a full refund. You may collect the unfinished boards or pay the balance for completion. Issues you posted for notes remain yours; if you abandon them after 90 days without reply we will write twice more, then charge storage of £5 per month or return them cash-on-delivery.

Exceptions that apply here

If a copy is lost in our custody, see the liability section in the terms. If we cannot source a named issue at all, the retainer still covers the brief and the empty shortlist; we do not keep hunting without a fresh instruction. We do not offer refunds because a hex variant failed to “hold value,” because we do not sell on that promise.
