Trial of Magneto, later solos, and the quiet hex issues people skip
Collectors who stop at House of M own a catastrophe and not a career. Trial of Magneto and the subsequent Scarlet Witch solos return to hex work as craft: circles, probability, and the cost of changing a room rather than a planet.
These later issues are usually cheaper than 2005 keys and easier to find in the UK. The difficulty is editorial rather than scarcity. Variant programmes bury the main cover, and some printings reshuffle backup hex essays.
We treat the ‘quiet’ issues as folio material, not as investment leftovers. A wirecore spine that runs from a 2010s solo into Trial of Magneto reads as a second act. Clients who only display the event often come back six months later asking for the issues that make the event make sense.
Lettering-heavy hex pages photocopy badly. If you are buying a scan pack from a listing, you are not buying the issue. We will not source digital rips. We will source the pamphlet, the trade, or a licensed NFT comic edition of the same story.
If your budget is tight, skip the fifth cover variant of a famous event issue and buy the later solo in nice condition. The magic is in the later book. The event cover is what other people recognise from across a convention aisle.
